Yes, PSUs do recruit M.Tech students. IOCL has recruited only M.tech or dual degree students for the post of research officer and as far as other PSUs are concerned there is a common fight in all IITs b/w B.Tech and M.Tech. Although some preference is given to M.Tech in comparison to BTech for core jobs. But mainly it depends on the placement team because they talk to the HR of companies, so they decide all the things related to the placement session.

Can I join the PSU after doing an M Tech?
Yes, you can join a PSU after your M.Tech. In some PSUs, B.Tech engineers join on an initial six months probation while M.Tech and MBAs do not have a probation period in order to give an incentive for higher education. During probation, the salary is fixed and lower than a non-probation salary. Also, this gives seniority to candidates with a higher degree.
Do MTech students at the IITs get access to the same placement opportunities just like their BTech counterparts?
