Education Day is being celebrated in the country today. Let us know that in memory of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of India, the country celebrates National Education Day on 11th November.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) announced on September 11, 200 on that Abul Kalam Azad has contributed to the education sector in India, hence the birthday of this great son will be commemorated as Education Day.

Please note that Abul Kalam served as the first Minister of Education of Independent India from 1947 to 18.8. He believed that primary education should be given in the mother tongue. Not only did she focus on women’s education, but she also awarded free universal primary education to all children up to the age of 1 year, as well as professional training and technical education.

Maulana Azad was a renowned journalist of his time and he also became the cause of the Indian nationalist movement. He understood the connection between education and the development of the nation.

Please note that Sangeet Natak Akademi, Sahitya Akademi, Lalit Kala Akademi was established in 1950. It all happened under the leadership of Azad. He also emphasized the importance of modern science in 1949 In the Central Legislative Assembly.
